As we all know, Europe is the World second-smallest continent with a length of 10.180.000km that covers approximately 6.7% of Earth's land and only 2% of the Earth's Surface. It has a higher ratio of coast to landmass than any other continent or subcontinent.

This continent has gone through a lot of history on its land. There has been many discoveries, one of them is the fossil of the Homo erectus, and it is the earliest hominid to have been discovered in Europe. Other hominid remains have been discovered in Spain.

Another important discovery that happened in Europe was the fossils of Neanderthal man, who later were supplanted by modern humans.

There are 50 countries in Europe, 44 countries out of 50 have their capital city on the continent. And also it counts with a total of more than 740 million people living on this continent. In Europe there is much more population than in any other continent, and this means that on the European continent live the biggest number of people.

Russia (part of the European continent) is the largest and biggest country on this continent, in fact it covers more area than any other country.

Also Europe has a temperate climate and the climate is milder in comparison to other areas of the same latitude around the globe due to the influence of the Gulf Stream.

In general, Europe is not just colder towards the north compared to the south, but it also gets colder from the west towards the east. The climate is more oceanic in the west, and less so in the east.

Europe is one of those continents where you want to live because it has a huge variety of languages. For example, in Europe there are 24 official languages but there are actually more than 200 languages spoken on the continent.
