Modern Wonders Quiz

Modern Wonders

The new Seven Wonders were chosen in 2007 (but the voting campaign started in 2000), and there were more than 100 million votes through the internet or by cell phone messages. People could vote as many as times as they want only though cell phone, but it was not possible to do by internet, because it was limited. Different lists of Wonders of the world have been collected to choose the world's most amazing natural wonders and manmade structures.

The new Seven Wonders are The Great Wall of China, Petra-Jordan, Christ Reedemer Statue- Brazil, Macchu Picchu-Peru, Chichen Itza-Mexico, Roman Colosseum-Italy, Taj Mahal- India.

The Great Wall of China was built to protect the empire of china from enemies, and to unite fortifications.

Petra is one of the oldest cities in the world, it is believed that it has been established in 312 BC. We do not know too much about this beautiful city, we only know 15% of its territory which means there is still more to be revealed.

Christ Reedemer Statue is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There was a different design of this statue that we don't know. It was intended that Christ holds a globe in one hand and a cross in the other hand.

Macchu Picchu is one of the most well-preserved Inca cities, because other Inca cities were destroyed by the Spaanish conquest. Chichen Itza was announced as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, and it is one of the most visited locations in Mexico.

Roman Colosseum is an amazing building that had more than 70 entrances and it is really old. It was built between 72 AD and 80 AD. Taj Mahal is a famous Indian tourist attraction, attracting more or less a million tourists every year.
